Consumer Cultivation License: A consumer cultivation license is required for any individual 21 years or older who wishes to cultivate cannabis for recreational purposes in Missouri. Patient Cultivation License Rules

Licensed patients may obtain a patient cultivation card to cultivate up to 6 flowering, 6 nonflowering >14″, and 6 nonflowering ≤14″ plants in an enclosed locked facility.
No more than 12 flowering, 12 nonflowering >14″, and 12 nonflowering ≤14″ plants can be cultivated in one enclosed, locked facility.
A qualifying patient is not allowed to cultivate or have cultivated on their behalf more than 6 flowering marijuana plants.
All cultivated flowering marijuana plants must be labeled with the qualifying patient’s name.
A patient cultivation ID card validity is as long as the original identification card, up to 3 years from the date of issuance.

Caregiver Cultivation License Rules

A primary caregiver may cultivate on behalf of more than one qualifying patient and may use one or more enclosed locked facilities.
No primary caregiver cultivating for more than one patient can exceed 24 flowering, 24 nonflowering >14″, and 24 nonflowering ≤14″ plants.
Only one individual in a patient-caregiver relationship is authorized for cultivation on behalf of the qualifying patient.
All cultivated flowering marijuana plants must be labeled with the qualifying patient’s name.
Primary caregivers that are also authorized as a qualifying patient cultivator can grow their own plants as a cultivator and patients’ plants using the same facility.
Primary caregivers that are also authorized as a consumer personal cultivator cannot grow their own plants as a cultivator and patients’ plants using the same facility.
Caregiver cultivation ID card validity is as long as the patient’s license and primary caregiver’s ID card, up to 3 years from the date of issuance.

Consumer Cultivation License Rules

Individuals 21+ may obtain a consumer personal cultivation card to cultivate up to 6 flowering, 6 nonflowering >14″, and 6 nonflowering ≤14″ plants in an enclosed locked facility at a private residence.
Two consumers holding valid cards can cultivate their plants at the same private residence if they inform the department of this.
No more than 12 flowering, 12 nonflowering >14″, and 12 nonflowering ≤14″ plants can be cultivated by consumers at one residence, regardless of the number of consumers living there.
All cultivated flowering marijuana plants must be labeled with the consumer’s name.
A Missouri personal cultivation card validity is 12 months from the date of issuance and is renewable with a yearly renewal application submission.

How Much is a Cultivation License in Missouri?

The Missouri cultivation license to grow recreational marijuana is low. Consumer cultivation licenses for adults aged 21 and older are only $100, and secures your personal cultivation card in Missouri. They must be renewed every year, with a $100 annual renewal fee.

A medical cultivation license in Missouri can cost anywhere between $150 and $250. This is because you must first obtain a medical cannabis certification from a licensed physician and those fees can vary.
